Vic Falls, Chobe and Okavango Delta Itinerary.

Longing to explore some of the wildest game parks in South Africa in luxury and lay eyes on the majestic Victoria Falls? Then this itinerary in Vic Falls, Chobe National Park and the Okavango Delta could be for you.

Livingstone (Victoria Falls) – 3 nights (AVANI Victoria Falls Resort)

One of the original natural wonders of the world, the Victoria Falls is a World Heritage Site and an extremely popular tourism attraction. Known locally as ‘The Smoke that Thunders’ this spectacle is accessible from both Zambia and Zimbabwe and it is an ideal place to combine game viewing and water sports. There is excellent fishing, a terrifying bungee jump and arguably the best commercial white water rafting in the world.

Day 1: Upon arrival at Livingstone International Airport, you will be greeted and handed your travel documents by one of our representative. You will then be transferred to you first accommodation near the Victoria Falls in Zambia, AVANI Victoria Falls Resort (+/- 30 minutes). Leisure time after check in. You could walk to the falls. Lunch and dinner are not included.

Day 2: Breakfast at your lodge. Today you will visit the Falls with a guide on the Zimbabwe side (activity included). Lunch and dinner are not included.

Day 3: Breakfast at your lodge. Today you could opt for a different kind of activities – Your lodge offers a variety ofexcursions at extra cost (not included): River safaris, Helicopter above the falls, Canoeing and fishing on Zambezi River. Lunch and dinner are not included.

Chobe River Front – 3 nights (Pangolin Chobe Lodge)

The Chobe River forms the northern boundary of the Chobe National Park, renowned for its diverse and abundant game viewing opportunities. This section of the park is best known for its dense concentration of wildlife including elephant and hippo populations, but the waters attract all manner of game including large herds of buffalo and the lions that prey on them. A visit to this area guarantees close encounters with an array of African wildlife. Visitors can look forward to some exciting activities such as: driving along the game-dotted river banks in a 4WD; cruising along the river in a motorboat, spotting rare birdlife and for a unique, luxury safari experience, hire a houseboat.

Day 4: Breakfast at your lodge. Today you will be transferred towards Botswana’s Chobe National Park to your next accommodation Pangolin Chobe Lodge (+/- 02h00). Lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, you may choose form the various complementary activities offered: Game drives in open-sided 4x, Photographic safari cruise.

Day 5: Breakfast at your lodge. Today you could enjoy the complementary  game viewing activities. Recommended program: Photographic safari cruise, Lunch at your lodge, Leisure time by the pool, Sundowner cruise on Chobe River in the late afternoon, Dinner at your lodge.

Okavango Delta – 3 nights (Mopiri Camp)

Situated in the northwestern corner of Botswana, the Okavango Delta is a World Heritage Site as it is the largest inland delta in the world. The magnificent Okavango River sprawls out over the dry sands of the Kalahari Desert forming this flourishing waterlogged oasis featuring countless meandering waterways and crystal clear lagoons studded with water lilies, as well as fertile floodplains and reeded islands inhabited with abundant wildlife. The Okavango Delta stretches over 15000 square kilometres. Visitors can enjoy a number of wonderful activities such as game viewing, fishing, bird watching or taking an authentic guided Mokoro excursion through this wetland paradise in a traditional dugout canoe. Commonly spotted animals include: lion, rhino, leopard, giraffe, hippos, elephants, crocodiles and countless species of bird.

Day 7: Breakfast and transfer to Kasane Airport. Breakfast on the boat. Today you will leave the Zambezi Queen to return to Botswana. A road transfer will take you to Kasane Airport, where a flight is scheduled towards the Okavango Delta You will stay at Camp Mopiri. Departure to your safari in Mokoro after your lunch at Camp.

Day 8: Breakfast and planning your day with your ranger. Available activities: Short mokoro trips around the surrounding islands of camp, Bush Walks, Fishing Trips (Bream, Tiger Fish, African Pike, Barbel), Day Boat Trips to the islands with a bush walk and mokoro trip. Bird walks by The Wild Bird Trust and the chance to discuss their research. Sundowners and private dinners can be enjoyed aboard the double storey barge under the African night sky.

Day 9: Breakfast and planning your day with your ranger. Available activities: Short mokoro trips around the surrounding islands of camp, Bush Walks, Fishing Trips (Bream, Tiger Fish, African Pike, Barbel), Day Boat Trips to the islands with a bush walk and mokoro trip. Bird walks by The Wild Bird Trust and the chance to discuss their research. Sundowners and private dinners can be enjoyed aboard the double storey barge under the African night sky.

Moremi Game Reserve – 3 nights (Nokanyana Camp)

Situated in the east of the Okavango Delta, Moremi Game Reserve ranks as one of the most beautiful reserves in Africa. It covers more than 4871 square kilometres of pristine wilderness, and the varied terrain includes savannah, winding waterways, and dense forest. This diverse ecosystem supports an incredibly wide spectrum of wildlife, ranging from large herds of buffalo, wildebeest and zebra, to the rare sitatunga and lechwe antelope, lion, cheetah and packs of wild dog in the open grasslands. The birdlife is prolific and includes most of the 550 bird species recorded on Botswana’s national bird list. A range of luxury lodges in the reserve offers visitors the perfect base to experience this corner of paradise.

Day 10: Breakfast and transfer by your lodge. Charter flight to the Moremi Game Reserve. You will stay at Nokanyana Camp. Departure to your 4×4 safari after your lunch at Camp.

Day 11: Breakfast and planning your day with your ranger. Available activities: Morning and evening safari in 4×4 in the Moremi / Khwai, Wildlife observation from your terrace, Relax at your camp with a homemade cocktail.
